A Moonlit Night

The moon rises above a sea of undulating clouds
As a cold sliver of wind, splices the quietness of night
Shadows, like a seasoned thief, crawl stealthily
upon the ground
Indistinguishable shapes become mere silhouettes..
The deafening silence gives way to the sound of
thundering heartbeats
As  icicles of fear creep slowly into the recesses
of the heart.
The mind, becomes a restless arena of horrific
imagery.
The moon slowly fades to black, behind viscous
clouds
Darkness...descends like a lifeless veil of shadows
It  is cold.
It is quiet.
It is.....Midnight.
